Description
A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, grown 3km north of Yarra Glen in the narrow Steels Creek, and 35% Shiraz from mature vines on the fertile and cool slopes of Seville.
Hand harvested in the cool autumnal conditions of vintage 2022, fermented naturally and matured over winter in old oak. Blended and bottled in September 2022 without fining or filtration.

The 2022 season
The 2021/22 season was the third successive cool season in the Yarra Valley, and the wines of 2022 are outstanding. Wet soils in spring but warm sunny conditions later in spring led to fruitset and crops that varied between very light to moderate depending on the site. Adequate rain throughout the season and generally cool conditions made for a slow ripening season with fantastic natural acidity and amazing flavour development. The wines have purity, balance and intensity with profound ageing capacity.
