Bobar 2019 Syrah

Limpid red with a super fragrant nose of cherries, mulberry, rose garden interwoven with savoury threads of black olive, liquorice and green peppercorn.

The palate is light to medium bodied and sweet fruited. A sense of pillowy fullness, berries and cherries fill the mouth, with a tautness that pulls into the back of the mouth lending length and resolution to the abundance of bright fruit.

The 2019 vintage

The 2018/19 season started with a mild Spring, regular rain and fabulous balanced vine growth. From mid-December summer began in earnest with several hot spells punctuating a dry lead to harvest and mild weather in between. The weather moderated in the final couple of weeks before harvest allowing for a gentle and slow ripening in the final stages. The wines have a beautiful richness and density of flavour counterpointed with a genuine restraint.
